Default HEy new guy from SC

So right now i own a 2003 4runner SR5 2WD. and i need a 4x4. been looking at a cherokee for a while and really want one to put a rough country 6.5 inch lift and 35's. help me out. dont know much about jeep other than its american made and everyone seems to have one. also seen em on the trails and doing stuff that even if my IFS 2wd 4runner was 4wd i would never be able to do it. what would yall sugest and what to stay away from. thanks!

Stay away from any rust obviously, and watch out for any electrical issues and overheating problems.

That looks pretty nice except for the tire wear issue. An alignment or worn front-end parts?
Trail only rig depends on the cost and if that's the one you want. JMO

That's clean also, but a little high if you're going to use it for a trail rig only.

Welcome from KS try to look on craigslist it seems there is always a lot of Cherokee's for sale and at a much better price than what you have showed so far.

Greenville and 5 grand is still expensive? i dont want one with 2xx,xxxk miles on it

if you frequent craigslist, look at the columbia, sc listing for about a week ago. i saw one (not sure of the year) for 300.00, it sounded perfect for a trail rig. it ran and the 4wd works. if you watch the local "trader" papers and craigslist you should be able to find one for a good price. and the good thing about the cherokee is that a lift is pretty affordable compared to other vehicles. good luck

Hello from SC! Once you get the XJ, make effort to go to Gulches ORV park in Laurens.... Spend one day there and you'll be a die hard Jeeper for life!
Looks good though, I say go for it.

i have been wanting to go gulches for a while now with my 2wd 4runner and take the easy trails. i got a 3inch spacer lift on it with 31" general grabbers but its a DD
