Hello from WV

I've been on this forum for a little bit and thought that I should introduce myself and my XJ.
My name is Frank and I've had my XJ for two years. I enjoy working on her though I must admit somethings are beyond me that had to be done to her. Due to figuring out things as I go and no one to teach me or lack of tools to do the job. I never claim to be a mechanic though some people think I am since I've always got her hood up. Just doing maintenance is all. I'm not afraid to try just about anything. I discovered XJ's are pretty forgiving when it comes to working on them.
Thanks to this forum I have been able to diagnose problems and issues that have come up along the way. But I'm still chasing down her death wobble though.
I think that this a great forum and plan to remain a member for some time.
I'm your typical red blooded American male that has a family and all the associated overhead that comes with it. I've been a cook for 13 years and there's nothing I can't do on that front lol. Tragically a lot of the areas I used to wheel have been closed off or privatized. There are a lot of places to go though I just am currently unaware of them.
I got promoted over the summer at the restaurant I work at so I've been very busy there and I've almost got my repair list done because of it. (I'm not allowed to say where I work cause they had all the employees sign a paper forbidding them from doing so online even if we like it. Idk why guess that's corporate America for ya lol.) But that's neither here nor there.
I have a wife and two kids whom I love very much. I enjoy working with my hands and my state. When I was in basic training at Ft. Knox my DS asked what there was to do in my state. Basically hunting ,fishing, wheeling, camping, and other assorted outdoor activities. If you've never been here, come by and see for yourself. Lots of great views to be taken in for sure. If you are in my area pm me and perhaps we can get together. BTW there is an off-road park in the works 50 miles from me in Beckley. My boys and myself are excited.
I know there are some guys on this forum that's from my state too but I have yet to talk to them though lol...... once again work gets in the way.
I wish you all the best and hope to hear from you sometime.
Frank

Hello from Michigan.

Thank you sir. My part of the country is littered with views like that. I've seen pictures from across the pond and I think your country side is beautiful.
It's one of the many places on my bucket list to visit.

Really, I would swap any day.

I was in ait with a guy from Michigan. Never been there though. My XJ seems to run the best when there's snow on the road and you folks always have plenty to go around. The last picture was taken after driving through hurricane Sandy for a few hours..... It was epic!

Well I'm sure that I'm not seeing the full picture over there. A few years ago I met a Brit that was one Buck wild s.o.b. But it wasn't under pleasant circumstances.

I hear ya there sir. I like being able to see trees whenever I look out my windows lol. Never really cared all that much for the big city. What you see in Central Park is generally how my whole state looks like. Plentys of places to hide and relax. You usually don't have to go very far to feel as if you are miles from civilization. This picture was taken not even an 1/8th of a mile from my house.

Hello Frank, a fellow WV'ian here. I'm in Morgantown. Glad to see more people are getting on here from WV. There are so many places to go weather it be an easy logging trail, or some pretty serious creek/river bed crawling. They are finally starting to make some off roaring parks, which is great. If I'm ever down in the southern part of the state I'll give you a shout. Safe wheeling!

You folks enjoying the state so far? Did you take in the State Fair of West Virginia this year?

Unknown XJ 01-01-2013 03:51 PM

I like it here in this state cause its a great place to raise kids. We haven't even had a murder in a few years in my neck of the woods. People usually settle their disputes with words or their fists here.
