Anyway, just got a 98 Cherokee, about 2 months ago. Makes my 3rd Jeep I've ever owned. Had a 1978 Wagoneer from 1984-85, and then a 1995 Cherokee from 2000-2002. Plan on keeping this one until the tires fall off or something else catastrophic. Only thing I had to do so far was get a new radiatior put in, pretty sure the the old one was the original...was basically full of trash/rust...but everything runs fine now. Crappy paint job on it, thanks to previous owner(my nephew) trying to get by with a $350 paint job. He prepaid a guy to paint it(original color was green, he wanted black). Anyway, first time..turned out looking like crap, then he paid the guy ANOTHER $350 for materials to paint it again...still looks like crap...I'll post a pic later.
Anyway, it has 189k miles, and now that the radiator has been replace, it works fine...A/C will freeze your butt off on a hot day..lol.
Just curious if there are any other Jeepers in the Monroe/West Monroe area. I'm in the Jeep Owners of America(JOA) group on FaceBook. The group has 18k people, and though I must admit quite a few of them are CJ/Wrangler owners, the group does have some XJ owners too. I spent some time down there... stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana for a few years. Way too hot and humid for me but the food was great!
