Hello from SWFL
Hey guys, I just picked up a 2000 Cherokee. This is my first Jeep, but I think I did alright. It has the 4.0 with the NP231 and the 8.25 rear. It has one owner prior to me and has 218,000 miles but is running strong with no check engine lights or problems and no rust under. A new valve cover gasket, rear main, and oil pan seal later and it is now leak free. Unfortunately, the AC is not working, but at $1900 I can't complain. Looking forward to wheeling.

Welcome to the forum and the family..... I'm just taking a shot at this..but if it's a 2000 with 218k on the motor... I'm guessing that the PO also replaced the head at some point. On the 2000s and 2001s they were very prone to cracking. Might want to ask them to make sure.
