Default Hello From The San Bernadino Mountains in CALI

Just stoping by to say howdy!

Brought home a 1993 XJ two door today with the (not even close to having power) 2.5.
A good friend of mine asked me if I wanted this jeep she had on her ranch, and when I got out there, it turned out to be a pretty straight little red 2 door. She was going to call the scrapper, and I am glad she asked me first. So I got this baby Jeep for $100.00. She wanted to just give it to me but I could not do that knowing it is worth a lot more than even $100.00.

So we stuck a battery in it and it fired right up (even with five year old gas).
It drove home from down bellow our mountain. It's a 25 mile trip.
Did pretty OK. Got the vibes at 50mph, but I kinda expected it.
It has a 3.5 spring front lift, and a 3" block in the back. The rear springs are shot, as well as the shocks.

So I am new to XJ's, but not Jeep's.
I also own two 1976 Wagoneers.
One that is a restomod with a 360 C.I.with FITECH FI, and the other one (Has a rich racing history as a tow vehicle for the race team) is a 401 C.I.
I'll get pics up soon.

Dusty

Welcome to the forum! Nice Jeep and good score. I am just down the hill from you at the base of the mountains.

Thanks!

I am starting to really like this little red jeep.
I used to say that the XJ's were not "real" jeeps, but I now know it is.

It's making it's mark on my driveway just like it's big brothers here!!

I used to live below you down in the valley.
Now I'm freezing my tail off up here in Washington state.
Man I miss those SB mountains. And the smell of sage brush at night. I miss that too.

OH I know!
I have always loved these Jeeps.
And personally I am Sooooooo happy that Scarlett (that's my new XJs name) is sitting in my driveway.
Not to mention how giddy I get driving it around. It is a blast!
My SJ friends have been giving me grief however.

Every summer we do a SJ thing up in Ouray and many an XJ left others to rust on the trails.
