NorCal is still pretty big so I'll narrow it down to Chico. I picked up a '98 XJ about a week ago while I was down in the bay area. I had to park it at my folks house until I figure out how to get it home.

It is the Classic trim with Up Country and trailer tow package and about every other available option . It rolled 129k on the test drive and I'll change the fluids before I bring it back to Chico.

It is a couple of issues: Center high stop light is in-op, changed the bulb and still no worky. Power door locks are intermittent and the engine oil filter adapter is starting to leak and if I had to guess the distributor is making a weird noise but I could be wrong.

Anyway I'm looking forward to a long fruitful relationship with this forum.

Ya, it is a pretty cool color. I got a folder with all the maintenance records and it also had the original window sticker and 1998 brochure. The color is called Gunmetal Pearl Coat, it has a lot of blue in it though. The paint is getting a little thin but it still looks pretty good. Thanks!
