Hello for Nor Cal 91 XJ
Been lurking for a while. I picked up a 91 XJ last year, 4.0 4WD, AW4, Dana 35. I have been wanting a XJ for while since taking my buddies off roading a few years ago. I told my uncle who works for a towing company to hook me up when he got one in. I got this one for $500. It has a clean title, clean interior no rips or stains, and it only has 140k miles. I am surprised after this long the AC blows cold, all the power windows and locks work. It has been sitting at my gf parents house next to a farm for over a year. I finally got a 3 inch lift kit for it(shackles, lift bock, coil spacers) for it a few months back. I finally got around to putting it on. Turns out some damn rats were living in the engine compartment
. I found dead rats and feces everywhere....Lame! Then I decide to finally mess around with it. Every damn bolt on this thing seems welded on
! I snapped one of the rear shock bolts All the damn bolts have been a pain in the *** getting off, including whe wheel bolts. To top it off one of the wheels had to be kicked off. Once I tore into this thing I found out it needs a new leaf springs, rear sway bar bushings, and front sway bar link bushings. I already ordered all that. Other than that I am so far happy with it. I have to keep in mind this is vehicle is 18yrs old. I did a full tune up on it, P/S pressure hose cracked so it sprayed fluid everywhere! So I changed that. *My current plans are to powder coat whatever I can fit in my oven.
*Get some 31's for it, I called one of my shops im looking at $130 a pop for good tires.
*Change out the suspension bushings.
* Add a hitch
Thats what I will do for sure I want to do a bunch of other things we will have to wait.
