Hello from Michigan
Hey everyone,
I'm Vishrut and I bought a 2000 Cherokee Sport with 88K miles on it back in May of this year as a winter vehicle. My other dd is a Honda Accord. Always wanted to get a Wrangler or Cherokee (couldn't afford a Wrangler right now). Everything has been running great so far except for the last couple of weeks I've noticed some metal to metal clunking/grinding from the rear end (sometimes it sounds like a semi engine braking, a new sound that just started is like a piece of metal scraping on the ground forward and in reverse; does not happen in neutral; don't see anything loose from visual inspection)
I'm fairly mechanically inclined (installed cruise control from a donor and replaced A/C compressor) so was hoping to get some help from folks here.
Main issue is time and finding the right mechanic/workshop/fellow jeep enthusiast. I am a resident physician at the UofM and time is one thing I'm in short supply of. Anyone in and around Ann Arbor, MI willing to help out either finding a reputable mechanic/shop or willing to take a look at my jeep? I'd greatly appreciate it. Really excited to be a long term owner and member of this forum.
