Hi. I'm Josh. I've wanted a Jeep since I was a kid. I'm 35 and I've never owned anything other than compact cars. I just bought a 1998 Jeep Cherokee 4-door with a 4.0L and 4WD. It has 108K miles on it and the engine runs very smoothly. It has a few minor mechanical and electrical problems, but, I like tinkering. I can tell that I'm going to be obsessed with this thing. I'm sure I'll end up on this forum a lot in the future. I can't wait to get this running perfectly and then to get it looking like my dream Jeep.

Well josh. Welcome to the forum.

We've had ours XJ new since 99. So if your talking about a build, ours has taken 13 years. And I've received a ton of help just by searching and reading the threads on here. Just remember to take before pictures. Lol

Thanks! Nice Jeep, btw. I can't wait to get mine looking that good. I'll be sure to take lots of pics after I wash it. The one I posted here is before I did anything at all other than fill the tank. The light in the rear cargo area was still hanging loose, it popped right back in place, I have no idea why it was down..

I wish I had more photos of ours when we bought it. I have a few 35mm shots of it when it was still on the lot. It's amazing how much we missed before digital pics.

I just saw that your from Ashland. I grew up in Huntington, and Wayne, WV and visited Ashland alot with my Grandfather on several of his exploits.

And you've got the right jeep. 98-99 is the best IMO, Good motor/ intake, HP dana 30 up front. Hopefully the 8.25 in the back? Good luck. Keep us posted.

I'm not sure what it has in the rear end. I'm not even really sure how to tell what kind it has. I'm sure there's a thread somewhere explaining it, though..
