Greetings from the PacNW
Hi. We're new to this forum, and you probably won't see me (Irish) post much--the testosterone on this site is palpable and somewhat intimidating! LOL!
We actually joined so that my husband, Zwack (aka "Z") can look up and possibly get some advice on one of our vehicles.
We have 2 (well, 3, if you count my '64 1/2 Mustang). A 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo is our daily driver. It's red, w/4WD, of course, a 6 cyl. 4.0 L. engine and automatic transmission. We don't rock crawl, but it does a good job of getting us to and from the beach to our west, and the mountains of eastern Oregon to the east, where my family lives.
The other vehicle, a recently purchased "cheep Jeep" in the form of a 1988 Cherokee XJ, cost us $400 in December. We bought it from a young man who prefers his "rice", so he sold us the Jeep for very little. Unfortunately, his "creative wiring" for the stereo he had once installed, and later uninstalled before selling the vehicle, caused a "small problem" while we slept one night. It started a fire in the dash. We awakened to a melted dash and windshield, and a smoke-filled, ruined interior. Thankfully, it went out on its own, and no one was injured. Now, Z has to decide whether he wants to even try restoring/rebuilding the interior, dash and wiring (engine compartment stuff and transmission, etc. are all fine). This may be where he comes to you all for advice, or, at the very least, commiseration :-).
We will be purchasing another Jeep within the next week or less. A late '90s Cherokee, but which one, yet, we're not sure of. We'll let you know when we decide. The other Cherokee XJ was supposed to be my toy. The one we buy will become it, instead. It'll also replace the Grand Cherokee as our daily driver, as it needs a trip to the mechanic for some engine work.
So, it's nice to meet you all. The avatar is one of our dogs, Fiona. Don't mess with Pomeranians!

Thanks :-).
Just bought our 3rd Cherokee today. 1998, 4.0L, 6 cyl. automatic, like the others. This one is forest green, dubbed "The Green Shadow", or simply "Shadow Jeep". Yeah, I know. Naming a vehicle is prolly a girl thing.... :-). Still, now we have "Red Jeep" ('95 Grand Cherokee), "Grey Beastie" ('88 Cherokee), and "Shadow Jeep".
It's raining. We'll get pix if the sun ever shines again....
