Greetings from Ohio!

I have been reading and researching on Cherokee forum since I bought my 2000 XJ two years ago. Why it took this long to join? Time constraints lol. I would like to join the community here, as we all share a common love for our Jeeps. I don't mud or wheel my Jeep. Its bone stock, for the most part, but it was BADLY neglected mechanically. Cosmetically, there is NOT ONE SPECK OF RUST!!!! The plastic bumper caps are faded, and the side cladding has since been removed. Not a tear, or stain on the interior
I cleared this purchase with my wife, though I didn't tell her the condition of the engine, suspension or transmission. She allowed me to get a toy, and possible a future vehicle for my son ( who is only 3 now lol ). I payed $100 for this poor thing, it had 163,400 miles on the clock. I know the previous owners personally. They told me that they last changed the oil on 5/19/2011. I bought it in 2016 lol. I was shocked. It started and ran, but it was SO NOISY. It needed a new alternator, battery, radiator, shocks, and the transmission slipped like mall security. The 0331 head had "The Crack Attack".
After two years, one cylinder head, oil pump, all new bearings, shocks, fuel pump, radiator, hoses, transmission rebuild, header, muffler and cat, everything, 12 oil change/ drains, at over 166,000 miles, this piece of Simplistic Engineering has been THEE most reliable, fixable, and economical vehicle I've ever owned! I have never put so much love into something besides my son! This thing is quite a head turner too! Get offers all the dang time.
I got that lower oil pressure problem still, but meh, it get oil good. Piston slaps at startup ( typical ). But totally reliable. I got money for a new engine, but not until this one dies. It helps that I live less than 1 mile from work lol. Don't put alot of miles on it

What makes my wife mad besides all the time and money she said I have "Wasted", is that I traded my new 2017 Taurus in favor if this. It's simple, fixed, adjusted, AND PAID FOR!
