Hi everyone, I just recently discovered the wonders of XJ's and have since then gone slightly mad and sold everything that isn't Jeep, in life there is now me and there is my Jeep, 4 litres of soul satisfaction.
I just bought a 1998 Limited in chili pepper red last week, 88k on the clock and from previous owners that practically held onto the bumper as I drove away, man did they keep the beast clean!
I won't blab on, the guy I got it from was a fabricator and he's done something nifty with the exhaust system, what a rumble comes off it, certainly saved me some time. Now I just need to save up more for all the mods I have in mind. Do those rear leafs looks a little tired to you? I think they could be first. There's also a light ticking sound on acceleration, I'm not sure if thats normal, might need investigating.
Cost: $1900 (£1200) plus fuel to pick it up (400 miles) but the exhaust would have cost me a good bit in parts and time and the millage is good, service history and heaps of docs. Anyway,
Look forward to contributing and hangin' around.

...how come? When I was really young it used to drive me mad the idea of cars having an off center seating arrangement for the driver. I think the lack of symmetry and consideration for 'other people' in the car was too much to take, took me years to come to terms with this left and right seating.
I am used to it now and see benefits in both, though I wonder what it would be like to drive an XJ seated in the center....
