Greetings from Mammoth
Greetings!
Just purchased a Green 97 Cherokee Sport 4.0 w/manual trans for 2.5K. It has 180K, but was a one owner vehicle. Picked it up from a buddy
who's dad owns a dealership. They got it as a trade in. They went though the brake system and replaced the AC compressor.
Bought it as a 2nd vehicle, a bit more family (wife & 3 year old) friendly than my 2 door Vehicross....
I had owned a 97 Grand Cherokee Orvis that I loved back in 2001, but due to circumstances, had to let it go after just 6 months.
Right now, I am looking to put some bigger wheels & tires on the XJ, but am unsure how big I can go without lifting/trimming.
Any help here would be appreicated.
Best,
James W Barron

Welcome to CF! I'm Dan from Tenn., and I bought a used '97 Limited Orvis
Up Country for pulling my landscaping trailer. Did a title search on mine because I didn't believe it was really an Orvis, as it's white & gold w/ black leather. DMV and Car Fax confirmed data. My insurance agent had the Jeep looked over and all #s matched. I knew they made some silver driftwood colored Orvis's besides the Moss green. But didn't know about the white & gold w/black int. before this one. Except for a small ding in the top of the rear hatch it's ding free and has 0 rust. It's good for business!

Thanks for the welcome!
I am sure you will enjoy the Orvis. From my limited experience, I thought it was top notch! I am however, as you can see, very partial to green
