Hello all,

We just got our first Jeep, a 1992 Cherokee Laredo. We sent the vin # to Jeep and got the build sheet for it. Doesn't appear to have been a police vehicle but it does have some peculiar equipment in it that we are unsure of:
-Between the sun visor there is a smoked bulb in a plastic cover that hides some gadget on a circuit board. Looks stock or very professionally installed.
-There's a microphone dangling out in the same place.
-Ethernet and jack cables run out from under the center console on the front passenger side.
-There's a coaxial cable coming out of carpet under the center console in the back passenger area.
-There's a little mount inside the window on the driver's side of the rearmost window.

I'm guessing some of the wiring is related to a CB. I have no idea what the circuit board under the plastic cover does. Any idea what was in this vehicle?

Oh, and Carfax has no record of the VIN #.

I believe the smoked bulb plastic cover circuit board thing is part of a factory alarm. I also have one on my '92 xj laredo.

wife's 92 laredo has one too, heard it was the sensor for the remote locks.
