First 4x4

Hey Everyone, my name is Joseph Copenhaver and I am from the good ole Southern Maryland where our Hams are stuffed and our beer comes in a 10oz can. Anyways I just bought my first 4x4 last week with plans of finally building something worthwhile. When I was a kid I always wanted a rock crawler and got into RC rockcrawling in the early days when the industry for them was small. So I learned to build and fab alot of parts and chassis for that. I got a Mig welder for my 16th birthday and ever since then I have been over building random things. I picked up a 1992 Cherokee with the Laredo package, its an auto with the NP231 and 186k but its sound mechanically. Well minus alot of parts(i.e. E brake cable, oil sender unit, fan shroud, lug nuts) I need to add but thats beyond the point lol. My plans are divided up into stages, each stage will be a year and will be jumpstarted with tax returns. Stage 1 is 6.5 Long arm kit, SYE/new driveshaft, regearing/lockers, and 33's. Then Ill start all of my Fab work for bumpers, sliders, and safari rack. Everything will be built in my garage as far as the bumpers and what not. Stage 2 will include 1 tons, rear coilover conversion, and 37's. Stage 3 will include a full exo or just removing the roof entirely and building a full cage. Pretty much a ghetto buggy if you will, rear dove and all. Im pretty ambitious about this build and I want stage 1 to be done before PA Jeeps event in July. We shall see if money allows, maybe if the GF gets too tired of me spending all my time with the jeep it will fast forward the money for the upgrades. It is registered as historic and is a non DD so it can be as rough and beastly as I please.
