Default Finally able to get a Cherokee!

So finally after four long years I have a Cherokee. I fell in love with them after seeing and driving a 98 Cherokee Classic. I grew up loving trucks, but after I got married I began to think about how I could still have fun in a 4x4 without sacrificing room for my future family. That is when a friend from work let me drive his Jeep one day to go pick up lunch. I have since then bought a 97 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4. After numerous times of stuff breaking and not being able to drive it (it was not very well takin care of before I got it), I finally decided to try and trade it in. After what felt like months (2 weeks) I finally just went to the dealer next to my work, and told them what I had, and what I was looking for. I wanted at least an AWD but preferred a 4x4 SUV. And since I work at the body shop next door the told me they would take my POS Dodge that barley drivable anymore and find me something finally I got called over and they had to SUV's an 02 Trailblazer and a 01 CHEROKEE. I got so freakin happy I told them that I wanted to test drive the Cherokee. Then I asked the mechanic at my work to help me look it over. They replaced the serpentine belts, couple of lights, charged the a/c,etc. After they dropped $1,100 into it for for me, it was finally up to my liking mechanically. There where still some cosmetic issues but hey I do work in a body shop. So after my trade in I ended up getting an 01 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4x4 with 139,367 miles on it for $3,250. I feel much better, and think I am better off now that I am finally in a Cherokee. By the way how do I find out what axles it has (Dana??).

Hi, you either have a Chrysler 8.25 or a Dana 35 depending if you have ABS or not.
  • 1997–2001: Dana 35, c-clip, ABS.
  • Late 1996–2001: Chrysler 8.25", c-clip, non-ABS, 29-spline axleshafts.
