Do not own a Jeep yet - Coming from the LS1 F-body world
Hey guys! I live in Concord, NC (10 minutes from Charlotte). I do not nor have I ever owned a Jeep. I am on my second Camaro and currently I have a 2002 Z28. I have spent way too much money on my car haha. Although I love my car, I am looking at selling it soon to get into an XJ Jeep. I have my eye on a 1999 model with a 4.0L and an automatic. I'd like a manual, but they seem really hard to come by. And a YJ (although easy to find a manual) seems to be more money than I care to spend when I can get more Jeep for less with an XJ...
If anyone wants to know details about my car, just ask. I'd be more than happy to list the modifications. Also, I tried just now to upload a couple of pictures of my car but was unable to do so...
EDIT: I just added a couple photos in another post.
Michael

Welcome to CF from Miami!
99' is certainly one of the best years for an XJ, and even though the manuals are very hard to find, the AW4 Autos are very strong transmissions. If you think you spend money on your car, wait until the off roading buy bites you with an XJ!

Thanks guys! Yeah I'm sure I'll find one for me. I just have to post my car for sale soon, and I'll be that much closer. And that's cool that there are other Camaro guys here! Nice!

man, you're selling your camaro and getting a jeep so that you'll quit spending money on mods? my mod list for my jeep is 3x longer than my mod list for the camaro ever was. i had a 94 with the 3.4. i wanted to swap in an ls1/T56 but I sold it. Now my brother has a 99 Z28 and I'm always trying to get him to mod it or street race people. i am a horrible influence.
Welcome to the forum! I found a few manual XJs from 97-99, but none from 00-01. They were all really far away, though. It does kind of suck going back to driving an auto.

Haha, I know I'd be putting money into a Jeep, too. BUT, if I can sell my car and get a Jeep for the right price, I could start to modify it and still have money left over. I'd modify and spend money on anything I own unless it was a Cavalier or Focus or the like. I've got a Hot Rodding curse where I just can't leave "good enough" alone.
