Cherokee limited 2.8 crd problems

Cherokee limited 2.8 crd problems
Hi all
New to cherokee forum so hi from the U.K. !!
I own a jeep Cherokee 2.8 crd limited auto 2004
Bought it on 7th nov 2014 and shortly after starting to feel a knocking coming from underneath
It usually happened when pulling off at junctions etc not whilst driving
Took it back to garage they found no fault
I have had 2 further garages check it and have found nothing
This problem is intermittent?!
Yesterday as I pulled off from a roundabout the car seemed to slightly jolt to the left on the back end.
Then as I joined a motorway we heard a loud noise, lost power steering but engine didn't cut out.
Managed to get car off motorway and then as I drove up a hill te car lost all power and cut out. This time it wouldn't start for about 10 mins.
Today I have drove car it has not broken down at all??!!! (But still has knocking noises)
No engine warning come on
