Default cheap *** jeep

Hello all-

Glad to have joined up. I just bought an 89 cherokee with 5 spd and 4.0 with about 210k. 300$. Runs, drives, stops. Shifts thru all five gears great. Has a 2" lift and some body damage to roof and hatch but Im not too worried about that. I plan on building a cheap wheeler to get my foot in the door in wheeling and start learning. Not worried about beating it up and would love advice on cheap upgrades and ideas. Thanks in advance and glad to be here.

Welcome to CF! I also have an '89 XJ, it is my DD but also love to go on easy trails. I have spent a lot of time at the junk yard to find parts to fix my XJ with great results. I currently have over 300,000 miles and going strong. Of course there's always something that needs to be fixed/replaced but that's the price of using it as a DD. Good luck!
