Thanks to y'all for making such a great spot to learn about the best utility vehicle on earth (and I've driven most...from Range Rovers to HumVees. The military version, not the blingmobile!).
My 97 XJ is driven daily as part of my business as a commercial diver. I haul my compressor, hose, hat, tools and other gear in the luggage area, which is cool because everything is locked up neatly for next day's use or a trip to the waterfront drinking establishment after work! Plus, I STILL have room for four drunks needing a ride home at the end of the day!
I bought mine on e-bay two years ago for five grand, delivered to my door from Fort Lauderdale. I installed a BDS lift and found five brand new wrangler wheels and BF Goodrich T/A's for four hundred bucks, right up the street and also on e-bay.
I checked yesterday, and I'm getting 15mpg around town with the A/C on.
Any way...thanks for the support, and be sure to check out my Auxilliary Fan situation in the tech thread. I've exhausted my capabilities!
Will post some pics later.
Kevin
