Well the wire alone is over $14. per foot. The kicker is that you have to buy a 500' roll.
This is more of an offer to anybody who may be interested in this kind of quality.
I wanted a set. They didn't exist, so I made them. The price is fair.

The kit looks great, but:
- At $400, you're at over twice the XJ crowd's budget. I'd cater more to JK and JL crowd. I'd say higher end clientele (like trophy trucks, racing teams, etc.), but they're already going to have their own means.
- The carrying case, while "cool", doesn't really matter to most anyone. Once you get it installed...that's it. A cardboard box like most others, would suffice.
- While the cable is very impressive, it's going to be far overkill for most (when compared to regular fine strand 2AWG).
Very nice stuff, just a bit off the mark in markets.

No, this is just a hobby for me. Funded out of pocket.
Welding wire is fine strand copper.
The jacket of welding wire is EPDM rubber (ethylene propylene diene monomer).
EPDM is usually rated for either -40*C to 90*C or -50*C to 105*C temperatures.
It is actually incompatible with most hydrocarbons, such as oils, kerosene, aromatic, gasoline, as well halogenated solvents.
These kits are 665 strands of 30 gauge wire. Each of the 665 strands is individually nickel plated. Nickel is extremely resistant to corrosion (if moisture even manages to break the seal).
The jacket is two separate cross linked ETFE (Ethylene tetrafluoroethylene) layers. Sometimes ETFE wire called Tefzel. It is common in race cars.
ETFE will operate at -65*C to 200*C. The melting point is much higher.
It has chemical, electrical, and high-energy radiation resistance properties. It corrosion resistant as well.

Many of the custom cable sets available are $170 - $200. There is really $20 - $30 worth of welding wire in those sets.
These are in the $400. range, but the profit margin is significantly lower.
I do totally agree though. These are a bit expensive for most XJ owners. Ideally they are for desert racing, search & rescue, and arctic vehicles.
They are available for other vehicles as well, and will be listed for sale elsewhere.
They will still remain here for sale until the stock is gone.
There are only 20 sets available (total).
The case is actually a real gun case.
I personally took a hit here, and decided to include them at a very low cost. I can ship them in a box, but it will only be a 3% discount.
Either way I'm glad you appreciate them!

Are you really shocked though?
Sorry, but WAY to expensive and "specialized" or "custom packaged" for the XJ crowd. I let it ride just to see how it would pan out, and it ended as I expected. Sorry it didn't work out for you. But in order to make it in the modified market, you need a good product at competitive prices.
