UPDATE: Had a dud, boys! I pulled the connectors one at a time, listening for a change in idle speed. It had me stumped for a minute, because the injector in bank 1 didn't do as much as injectors 3,4,5,6. Turns out #2 was not working for me. Swapped it for one of my old ones and she runs like a charm!

Programbo: Let me know what I need to do to get a new one from ya. Do you want me to ship the other one back to you or should I pull it apart?

I'll send a replacement out tomorrow morning. Just toss the bad one. Good job of tracking it down.

It's much appreciated, man! For anyone wondering, I'll update what the actual MPG gain is on the highway tomorrow.

I just filled up this morning to start reporting mpg gains if any as well. Wanted to let my computer adjust to the change

Just finished installing a set of 703 in my 98. I reset my PCM and like others it ran rough for awhile then smoothed out. I let it get to operating temp then took for a spin. I really like how the throttle response is now.

I also blew it out a little..my speedo is off so I estimate it at 98. .

Thanks Programbo for quick delivery and a good product.

Did I read this right? $80 for a set of upgraded cleaned injectors?

What kind of mpg change might I expect for my 98 4.0? Current hwy/city mixed best is about 18.5 mpg.

I wouldn't expect any improvement in mpg unless your current injectors are failing badly.

I never did the pcm reset trick when i was done but had the battery unhooked for about a half hour. So i did the pcm reset procedure. Twice and it never ran rough again besides the initial start up after installation

Just a quick reminder to all that while many experience a slight MPG increase since they are replacing older dirty injectors with fresher better working ones, the injector upgrade is more about performance.

Where's all the guys with the newer XJ's? It seems pretty much everyone who has responded to my ad so far has had a pre-99 XJ

What injectors would work the best with a renix and do you offer them?

The renixs work best with the Volvo 746 injectors. Same design and 4 hole spray as the Neon 703's. I have a set ready. Send me a PM
