Hi Dave!
I have rear drum brakes on my 01 XJ and everything is rusted solid. Since it's all coming off, including the backing plates, I might as well convert to disc at this point. What do you have as far as direct bolt on? No ABS, D35c.

Nothing at the moment but I hope to go get more soon.
When I do I’ll post them for sale.
It’s looking like from here on out it will be Liberty backing plates & calipers since the ZJs are getting fewer and fewer in the yards.

So I just got this notification again, I forgot that I was signed up for notifications from this thread, from a site that I haven't been part of for a while because I was forced to junk my Jeep before I could finish fixing it. And every time I see a notification from this side account makes me a little bit sad. However, I still came here to read this and maybe someday I'll be able to get another Cherokee but who knows. However in the meantime I want to ask you to explain to me how good or bad it is to use the Liberty calipers and backing plates for this brake conversion? I can't remember apparently the use of that but I'm saying so because I know the Pick and Pull near me always gets a lot of Liberties in there of various years. Maybe I could stock up help myself out by grabbing a set the next time I'm there so I'll have it when I do get a Cherokee again. Would it be okay to ask you to explain to me what I would need to grab hold of when I'm out there, and from what year liberties to get them from?

Not sure why you’d want to get the parts if you don’t have a Jeep to put it on……
But I’ll give you one piece of free advice, pull all of the parts attached to the backing plates & you will be good.
And to anyone else who may be curious, there is no difference in the ZJ & KJ backing plates other than the bore of the hole that slides over axle tube is larger on the KJ backing plates.
Hope this helps.

I have a set Liberty backing plates & calipers & I can add a drivers side e brake cable as well as the portioning valve for $250 or $225 for just the backing plates & calipers.
