Zj disc brake conversion
Hey Big David,
I have an 87 Cherokee with a factory Dana 44 rear and I am wondering if the bearing retainer plate for the ZJ's dana 44a axle is the same as the Cherokee dana 44 axle bearing retainer plate so if I ordered your ZJ Disc break conversion kit would I need to re-drill the holes for backing plates/bearing retainer to match or are they more of a bolt on affair? Thank you Mike |
Hey, wondering if there are any updates on kits? Need one for my 00 XJ with Chrysler 8.25
|
No updates. Still need to find time to get to the yard. Work is not cooperating.
As far as the Dana 44a question. The Dana 44a & Dana 35 are pretty much the same crappy, C clip axle & designed almost identical. No bearing retainer plates on the 44a. |
both of my Cherokee XJ's 87's and both have the non c-clip dana 44 that is why I was asking about the retainer plate. but if the Dana 44a is a c-clip then that answers my Question... so if I am correct I will still have to modify the bearing retainer plate.
thanks for the info. Mike |
Yes, you will need to modify your plates or get Rubicon 44 plates.
|
Will buy a set when you get in stock 100% sure, 98 xj 8.25
Thanks |
I'll take a set for a Chrysler 8.25.

I have 2 complete kits @$225 each & one kit minus wheel studs for $200. Ten longer studs I've found online for $17 shipped to you.
First 3 to PM me gets them. I'll give you my PayPal info then. |
The backing plates & calipers are off of a Liberty. They are bolt on for the c clip Dana 35 or Chrysler 8.25 without any modifications to the plates.
Happy Easter. |
PM SENT!
|
David,
Sent a PM this afternoon. I'll take a complete kit. Thanks, |
I have one kit left WITH lug studs (I found 12 in a box). Also comes with a driver's side e brake cable. $225 shipped

I'll take that kit for my xj

All are spoken for. I will post up more when I get them.
|
I'm interested when you get more. Thanks.
