This is a fully functioning Chrysler 8.25 29 spline rear axle assembly removed from my 1997 Jeep Cherokee XJ (150k on the clock). These were only available in the second generation Cherokee's and is one of the stronger axles factory equipped on other Jeep models. This axle is an excellent direct swap upgrade for early Cherokees equipped with the D35 and can easily be modified to fit other vehicles. The axle is in great shape and was removed in functioning condition. The axle seals and wheel cylinders are NOT leaking. Brakes function fine and shock mounts are in tact. The assembly has been stored with all openings closed and still contains good oil - so the internals are in excellent shape. Currently gears installed are 3.07
