89 Xj 4.0, auto, 4x4, 3.5" lift.

I've been going back and for for the last several months on what to do with my cherokee. and I've decided to sell it and take the money I would put into it, and save up for a jku in another year or so. I haven't driven it in the last 4 months except to drive it from my old house, into storage, and the from storage to my new house.

It has A LOT of work, but it also needs work.

It recently passed emission, has a new cat, new tires (they have like 6-700 miles max on them), metal cloak lift kit, Just about everything has been replaced/rebuilt on it front to back, brakes, bearings, u-joints, shocks, bump stops, fuel pump, sensors, wires, radiator, hoses, injectors, exhaust header, actually the rest of the exhaust is either new, or replaced with solid parts.

What does it need? engine work. my last block I blew the head on it, then I thought I got a smoking deal from a shop here, to replace with what was supposed to be a "rebuilt" engine, but that has proven to be not the case, or if it was, it was done poorly. It runs, actually pretty well, BUT if you drive it on the freeway/highway for any distance, it spews oil out the intake, and it wants to overheat. It seems to want to overheat as well. I THINK that the rings are bad, and it has too much blowby. I might be wrong, but the shop that did the emissions work said the oil was half gas, and it was running super rich, they ended up replacing the ECM, and it runs better now, but damage done possibly.

A/C works pretty well, but it leaks out over time, and there must be a vacuum line leak, because if you're idling, or going along at an even pace, it blows out the vents, but if you floor it, go up a grade, or go at higher freeway speeds, it moves to coming out of the defrost vents under the windshield.

It even has an awesome R.E.M. which is a renix engine management tool, which gives you all the readings off the engine. (if you look up R.E.M. on youtube, you can find way more information on it, I have the beta version, and the guy who makes them is working on version 4 which replaces the clock and gives you even more information, and can do data logging and had bluetooth to hook up to an app on an android phone).

I've lost the desire to put money into my jeep, and emotionally have moved on, so I think its time to sell it, and save up for the next project I can get excited about again.

So you know it needs engine work more than likely and don't mention having any problems in the craigslist ad?

sold. I made it very clear to the buyer what he was getting, and the issues it had.
