Question 1998 Limited XJ, 4.7 Stroker

I have a stroker that I built two years ago after two Titan cam failures. All parts that are listed new have been installed either during the rebuild or since then. It runs like a scalded dog when you step on it. The reason I’m selling it is because I’m in Afghanistan and my company had it shipped back home. In that process it was damaged (pictures soon to come). The damage resulted from the hood not being fully closed when it was in transit. The hood caught wind and flew up, bending the cowl in the process.

The damage is realistically minimal and the hood closes all the way making it barely noticeable since it's black. I wanted to start over with a new XJ and build a stroker with the 232 crankshaft with smaller HP numbers so that I could supercharge it and it still be somewhat streetable. Hence the supercharger.

After much research and contemplation I have decided I am going to install a Sprintex setup. The gains are more modest, the installation requires no third party fuel tuning units, and it utilizes a 7th injector which allows me to utilize smaller injectors which makes it more streetable.

I want to sell it soon and be done with it, hence the price.

The bad:
-Rear hatch window was busted recently (don’[t know how, but my grandpa who wants it sold and off the property is suspect)
-The cowl area is bent from passenger to driver’s side causing the hood to sit 1/3rd of an inch back from the grille.
-I had an SAFC and wideband 02 wire-nutted into the existing ECU harness. It’s currently soldered and heatsrhunk back into place, but it could be prettier. All of the wiring is functional albeit with thick mounts of solder in some of the soldered lines.
-The passenger cowl leaks into the passenger floorboard. It’s an easy fix I never took the time to correct
-Grille guard has some damage
-Missing Driver’s headlamp bezel
-Steering box needs some adjustment (there’s some play in the center)
-There’s a half inch notch in the passenger side windshield that has been there since I bought it
-There is a bad ground in the dash somewhere that causes funky electrical problems. A few fuses are currently disconnected (rear windshield wiper and passenger door locks) because they would activate anytime you hit a bump. Gauge cluster also shuts off sometimes.
-Engine bay needs TLC and the cylinder head/block was never painted during engine install, so they are rusty on the outside
-In the driver’s floorboard above the pedals there are 2 holes I drilled for running the SAFC and wide band 02 that need to be sealed up
-Engine bay needs TLC (from sitting under a tree in florida weather for a year)

NOTE: The ARB Bull Bar, IPF lights and Flexalite Dual Electric fans have been removed and are being reused on my new XJ.


+Avenger Supercharger Kit (separate or with XJ at a discounted price). Never installed by me but I bought it used back in January. It comes with a 2.0 bar MAP sensor, intercooler attached to SC, all the hoses and the surface mate to attach it to the stock manifold. I believe a larger throttle body is necessary to install it (62MM I believe). You will need a Wideband 02 and third-party electronics to tune it properly.


Cherokee: $2700
Avenger: $1300

XJ and Avenger together: $3500

I will ship both at extra cost to the buyer.
