Would you trust this truck on a cross-country trip? How deep is the rust - I'm not a body-work guy, but do you think it's something somebody could sand-away, and treat? On the frame rails - is that undercoating bits, or old mud/dirt?

It's never given me a bit of mechanical trouble. I think I'd drive it to California without trouble. You could treat the rust, i dont know why you would it's purely cosmetic. The frame rails is both, undercoating and mud. It's a good daily driver rig, only reason I'm getting rid of it is because I found a great a deal to replace the cummins truck I sold when the wife and I had a baby.
