1992 Laredo 2x4 SOLD
I am selling my 1992 Jeep Cherokee Laredo. It has an original 4.0 liter High Output engine, about 170xxx miles, automatic transmission (AX15), power windows and professionally installed tow hitch. Florida car, nearly no rust! It needs some work. Currently titled and tagged for Florida, I was in the process of trying to get it inspected but decided that I need a tiny car. It is currently my daily driver. Engine and transmission are very strong, but needs a good bit of work to get it past state inspection.
Recently replaced: radiator, fan, valve cover gasket, heater valve, thermostat, thermometer sensor, new complete polyurethane bushings, shocks with air-adjustable rear shocks, catalytic converter, APN header, Neon 4-port fuel injectors, front brake pads, Spectre cowl air intake, windshield, some tie rod ends, 15" rims, tires, Thrush glasspack muffler
Due to be replaced: the other tie rod ends (it's very noisy), main window regulator (only the driver's side window control works, and it is not very cooperative), rear tires (tread is still good, but there is some gouging from towing a heavy load), the paint is pretty bad and the interior is rough. No headliner to speak of and the dash is ugly. The current exhaust setup was intended to be temporary and is not welded in.
Odds and ends: The city fuel mileage is abysmal, about 11 mpg, and highway is about 25. I have been trying to figure out why, but have no clue. The car was once broken into but has been repaired but has left the driver's side door lock operational but loose.
This car would make a great candidate for a 4X4 swap as the body is strong and rust-free. I don't know anything about "historic" tags, but i think with some work it could pass inspection. The previous owner used it as a towing vehicle, and I can attest to its towing abilities as it got me and all of my stuff from Florida to Baltimore.
