Zone Full leafspring 3" lift question
Hi,
my daughter bought a 1996 xj and it came with a brand new uninstalled 3" lift kit from Zone. It also has oversized 31x10.5 tires that are rubbing on full lock.
After reading the reviews on this lift I wanted to ask a couple of questions
Any thoughts on the install of this kit and the spidertrax spacers?
thanks

- will we need to install new brake lines with this kit
- I assume the kit wont help the oversized tires from rubbing and I was looking at the 1.5" spidertrax wheel spacers to prevent the tires from rubbing
Any thoughts on the install of this kit and the spidertrax spacers?
thanks

I have the same lift on my wife's 2001 XJ. We had 1.5 inch spaces with similar tires and had no rubbing, after the lift. We used the stock brake lines for a couple months, with relocation brackets, but they were too short for comfort and we switched them for some extended lines.
Also we needed to shim the rear axle and instal a slip yoke eliminator to cure vibrations from the change in driveline angle. Not all XJ's need this but ours did. Pretty easy job actually and about $200 in parts.

I ordered the Zone 3" lift today and from what I have read up on the lift it would be a good idea to put new rubber brake lines, but not required. I have found most auto parts stores have cherokee brake hoses that are 4" longer. You could also use YJ brake hoses but they cost more than the longer cherokee lines. All 3 can be bought for less than $75 ($50 if you shop around).
