Hello, my uncle has a grand cherokee Laredo 93-98, im not sure what year it is exactly, that he said i could have. I have a 96 xj and i was wondering if i would be able to pull out the motor and wireing harnest and put it in my xj. I would take everything that fits, seats and all but would be happy w/ motor and harnes. The previous owner of mine has wires cut and stuff just hanging off it and i would really like to have a nice harness to know that my problems are problably not in the harnest. my xj has a problem that i cant find and im out of money to buy parts and my uncle said the jeep ran when he got it so if i could just swap out everything i would just try that. any info will be nice i have found conflicting answers to this question was wondering if anyone could help clear it up or guide me in the right direction.

what are the specks on the grand? some came with a v8 and others the l6 thats identical to the xj's i believe.

all i could tell was it has a I6 in it. still learning about this stuff so i cant identify things to good yet

im not great with engines and junk but id think that if engines and tranny were the same you could swap pretty easily. seats and etc will all swap. might take a little fabrication but wont be hard.

Transmissions are different. Engine I believe could be used. Transfer case maybe.......
