My jeep is daily capable but it's mostly a trail rig. My mileage is bad already but I'll take cooler temps over a few mpg 's any day. And by no means am I saying stock is inefficient but a zj clutch is an old upgrade with proven results.
My Jeep is just a DD. Those days of thrashing around out there are long over. The only reason I replaced the fan clutch was because of that video somebody posted about what a shot fan clutch and a working fan clutch do when you shut off the engine. Mine spun for awhile. I was not having any cooling problems but figured if the fan clutch was not working like it should it needed to be replaced regardless.

HD fan clutch for the XJ (posts #6, 3). Moves more air than standard but is not jet engine loud like the ZJ fan. Also does not lower fuel economy as much as the ZJ fan.

Does anyone know what the ZJ clutch part # is?

The NAPA website shows that #272310 has the following applications:

NAPA online shows this part as the only application for 4.0L 1993-1998 (ZJ) Grand Cherokees. V8 ZJs use a different mount:

Like I said before most auto parts store (Napa, Advance, Autozone, Orileys) don't list the standard duty fan for the 4.0 ZJ anymore for some reason, buy if you look on Rock auto the standard duty (without Max cooling) ZJ and the 2.5 4cly fan clutch are the same part.

Rock Auto lists these parts for 2.5L XJs. It appears that the Hayden 2737 part that the OP mentioned in his first post is interchangeable with NAPA #272310:

I must be losing it. I don't see any applications on Rock Auto for the ZJ that don't say "severe duty" or "heavy duty/max cooling".

Got me thinking here.......

What if we could get the electric fan to just come on sooner? Automatically.....

A different fan switch is available for Renix.

That would be a great option, especially for '00/'01. 223 degrees is a little high, IMO.

A manually operated switch override would be helpful for only those times you really need it though.

OMIX-ADA 1710504 is the listed under the 4cyl Cherokee or the ZJ without heavy duty cooling.

Indeed. I plan on doing it soon but, honestly, I really don't need it. The only cooling issue I experience is heat soak. Even pulling a #2700 trailer in 100 degree heat, a heat-soak restart is the only time my aux fan operates.

OK, yeah I missed that one but see it now. Oddly, not all years of ZJ show that part.
