Default yukon pinion nut

I'm installing new R&P on the Chrysler 8.25 and the pinion nut that came with the Yukon master install kit is too big. It has the right threads but the outside diameter is 1 5/16 vs the original 1 1/4. The socket won't fit in the yoke. Is there a special socket or did I just get sent the wrong nut?

they make thin walled sockets to fit inside yokes, i have a couple friends that had to use them on their d60/d70.

or you could take the original nut with you and go to your local auto parts store and pick one up

Thanks Weaver, no go on anybody having the nut in P'cola. Not even the dealer. I'm gonna head to the hardware store and try to find a nut there or a thinwall socket. Thanks! I knew i couldn't be the only one who has run into this,
Don

On mine I ground the nut down just a shade on all sides and was able to get a 32mm socket on it that I got from advanced auto if that helps.

Thanks tugboat. Nobody here has the socket or the pinion nut. All the pinion nuts I found are the same outside diameter. Looks like locktight is coming.

The same thing happened to me, I just used the old nut with a little blue locktight and proper torque.

Thanks! I ground it down and put the locktight on. I also contacted Yukon and let them know the problem.
