About a 1 minute long consult of google told me that no, they are not the same, and that modifications would have to be made in order to put a YJ column in an XJ and vise versa

And still there is nothin. The only thing it says it you can put a xj in a yj I just need to know if one 's longer then the other or shorter o and by the way I did that and nothin

there you go. FYI the column is the same length if both are tilt columns. Ive had both a YJ and XJ. The non tilt columns are shorter by a tiny bit but will work.
