Default Xj shackles

I'm looking for shackles to gain 1.5 inches maybe 2 inch to go with my 2.5 leaf packs, I see a lot of shackles sold as 5 or 6 inch eye to eye and I was wondering how that translates to lift? Also what's so special about the boomerang shackles? What shackles would you reccomend?

Stock XJ shackles measure 3.25" from bolt to bolt.

But with a good shackle you can't just assume a 5" shackle is going to give you a 1.75" lift. I'd grab a set that have more than 1 setting on them but don't get the cheap looking thin ones. They bend rather easily.

Boomerang shackles allow the shackle to travel farther before coming in contact with the shackle hanger.

That doesn't sound like a bad plan you have there.

I'd choose new 3.5 packs over old 2.5" packs with a shackle.

Not even close up front. The rear bumps keep it half an inch off the body. That leaves me with about 4 inches of up travel and plenty down.

If I went to 37's I'd just cut some more of the rear sheet metal out. Not a lot.

You can sorta see it in this picture. It's not all the way on the bump but it's close.

Oh, wow. I read that completely wrong from the beginning.

I read it as "HP44 with a 8 inch lift and 37" PBRs."

Whew, I thought we were going to have another 11inch lift thread going on.

Gotcha.

In that picture is 44/8.8 35's on ~3" BS wheels and old saggy Rusty's 6" leaf springs and coil springs. Sagged down to about 5"s.

That thing looks awesome, I wanna keep my shiny Rubi wheels so I'm probably gonna be running spacers, getting adjustable re uppers and superflex lowers along with 3.5 coils from a friend then gotta see about shocks, gonna do that on the hp30 and the c8.25 for now
