High and tight cages are a pain in the ***** But some people like myself would rather have body damage than some ugly ***** exo but thats my opinion some people like exo's some people don't.

Had one of their cages in a wrangler when I lived in CO and was very happy with it. Never had any experience with their xj cages though.

I wasnt going to weigh in on this.. but since I have a caged XJ I will. Mine is an internal cage, and the one thing I have seen in all of the links listed.. is not a one of them mounts the seats to the cage. Without doing that.. you are wasting your money.
Also there are not many cages that are still structual sound after a "hard" roll. Structually speaking no matter how much triangulation and gussets you have stress develops somewhere in it.

Hey-
I just got a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Classic. I took a plasma cutter to it to make it into a convertible. I live in hawaii. Do you know anyone that would be able to help me make some roll bars for it?

1996 Jeep Cherokee Classic Convertible Project
Hello-
I am looking for some help in acquiring roll bars for my Jeep Convertible. I live in Hawaii and am trying to make a fun beach vehicle for the weekend. I currently have it on a 4 inch lift with 31x10.5 BFG MUD TIRES. I had a guy use a plasma cutter to take off the roof. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I am hoping to find someone who would be able to fabricate some bars for me to put into the jeep.

Until you find somebody to reinforce that chassis (not really a unibody anymore) I'm going to recommend you don't open all four doors at the same time.

Just curious, does the guy with the plasma cutter not know how to fab a roll cage? Certainly he must know a guy, maybe even a guy who knows a guy. What island are you on?

I have driven it a few times now as it is. I am not ever intending to do any off roading with the vehicle - it is honestly just something to go to the beach with. I am currently on the island of Oahu. The person I bought it from is who had it chopped- he was going to make it into a off road beach cruiser and then was getting deployed so he had to scrap the project all together.
I am honestly just trying to make the vehicle safe (as much as it can be- I know this would be a great opportunity for someone to crack a "then put the roof back on" joke) it is not being driven more than 45 mph (as the speed limit on even the highway here is 35mph, I live on a small island). I am looking to either have someone make a roll bar or if anyone has any idea where I should go to make this thing better. Thanks for your time! I appreciate all the help.

do not drive it that way you nut! it will literally fold in half
it's going to take either a detailed cage that ties in to the frame and probably the A pillars, or buy a bolt in cage and hope that works. posting on pirate4x4 is definitely not a good idea. cutting the roof off your jeep straight out the gate was a pretty bad idea as it is. if you got kids, please don't put them in there when you go for a cruise

why is posting on pirate4x4 not a good idea? Again I wasn't intending on 4x4ing with it or anything like that. I have only driven it a couple times on the road and at speeds of only 35 mph. Just am looking for some solutions to it and where I can go to get what I need for it.
