xj opinions on side mirrors

so i have banged up my side mirrors from being offroad and i am in the middle of doing a removable half door build. i would like to mount in some new mirrors that would work for both half and regular doors to keep it street legal. so my thoughts are placing after market mirrors closer to the front. i cant just place them near the front windsheild because the regular doors will hit them. and i dont want to have to take the mirrors on and off and place them on different doors. so i am thinking of taking a page from the old range rovers(see pic below) and placing the new mirrors for a wrangler off amazon(see pic below). so please offer comments, suggestions, or ideas.

Let me be the first to tell you you could miss an oil tanker in those mirrors. They are really hard to see out of.

Why don't you just bolt factory mirrors to your fender, closer to the stock location?

A jy set of spares would be cheaper than most options.

The 97 up mirrors bolt on and will fold in.

X2 I used to bash up my 1996 mirrors until they finally fell off. Installed the 97 power mirrors and they fold up out of the way.
