Default "Upcountry" LCA recommendations

I'm looking at upgrading LCAs for my "upcountry" (1.5") lift. Many of the adjustable LCA's aren't specific about the lengths and lift heights that they fit, just that they're "good for any lift up to X inches".

Specifically, I'm looking at the Rubicon Express RE3720. Does anyone know if these adjust to "stockish" lengths? Are there any other LCAs that you would recommend for my setup? I don't have any caster issues, I just want a heavier-duty LCA.

TIA!!

The only aftermarket control arms I would ever put on my Jeeps would either be with Johnny Joints (like Currie/Savy) or Metal Cloak's Duraflex. They are much better joints than what RE comes with (rubber bushings).

I am familiar with the WJ mod Earl. I'm not convinced they're worth the work to fit them, honestly, and I'm not sure about those strange bushings.

Thanks for the link. I will keep those in mind.

Can I just assume that all adjustable LCAs will fit stockish-height?

That should work. Thanks again.

You would think that it would be easier to find this data for each aftermarket control arm...

That's great info. Where did you find it?

I totally agree.
The RE LCAs seem overpriced. For $50 more (23%) you can get cav fab arms with .25 thick dom steel and johnny joints, or metalcloak arms with duroflex joints and gold zinc plating.
Most of the adjustable short arms should work on a 1.5" lift. Cav fab will probably customize the lengths if needed.

If you aren't too picky I would recommend browsing ebay and forum classifieds for the next couple weeks. I have come across some really good deals on LCAs recently.

Check out Rusty’s Offroad LCAs. They come in both adjustable and fixed length, and a rebuildable “forged flex” heim-type joint similar to the Johnny Joint. Price is competetive.

Thanks for all the great suggestions folks! I'm leaning toward Metalcloak. They seem to have the best price/performance ratio. The Duraflex joint seems to have the best combination of flex and damping as well.

Good Choice I found the length charts useless. Use the lowers to center the wheel in the well and the uppers to set your pinion/caster and carry on. Good luck and enjoy.

I'm so close to stock height that I'm just going to measure and set at factory length. My caster is good and I don't have much for driveline vibration. I'll leave the fine-tuning to my front-end guy if need be.

Worked/are working just fine on mine....install took about 2 hrs total....and 1/2 of that was using my belt sander & a bucket of water to get the bushing & inserts to the correct width (they are bigger on the grands).
