Wj power seat wiring
I need help. Not sure what wires I need to give power and ground to. Do I need to go back to the jy and cut the wires from the wj? If that will make it easier then I'm only a few minutes away. I know there are write ups around, but I've never done wiring of any kind, so I need pics and they only say "connect it to power and ground it out" or show wiring diagrams. Which confuse me haha.
Green/red, black, and red.
Did these all go to motors attached to the brackets I left in the wj?
The three pins from the green /red, black, and red

All you need is a red hot and black ground for them. I put some in my XJ and that is all I used

So in the second picture I can just cut those wires and use red to power and ground the black? I looked at a video and the other connectors were to the old tracks motors, so I'm about to separate the loom and pull all those out too.

Ok a few more questions then I'll have functional leather power wj seats!
Where did you run the power from?
Does it need an inline fuse? (if so how big?)
Can I just cross the hot wire over to the passenger side?

Yes, you can cross the hot wire over, I did. I took power from a source connected to the battery so the key didn't have to be on to adjust the seat when getting in. I used a 20A circuit breaker, but you can use a fuse. The extra wires on the seat side of the plug go to seat heaters. But if you don't have the body module, you cannot run those

Sounds good. Guess I'll run the wire tomorrow. Started to rain. Here's what I have so far though.
Did all of this unnecessary work... Oh well, it was interesting for me to see how all that wiring was run to the different switches and motors from the factory.
I think it looks pretty good! I still need to go grab a new bolt for one of the ones I snapped. Already drilled it out.
And peaking up from the back are the matching rear seats! Those should be a ton of fun to make fit right.

Looks like my install. As far as matching rear seat goes, look for the early renix era leather. It matches very close in color and slips right in. I was fortunate to find one in good shape. I guess I didn't get all my pics back from Photobucket or I could show you mine.

I'm set on having the split seats. If I can't make these wj ones fit, maybe I'll try black leather zj ones. I assume those would be smaller?

All wired up now. I ended up running a wire from the battery and went and followed the wiring harness across the firewall and went through the wall under the brake booster. I just poked a hole and pulled it through. Is this what most people do? And then I went under dash to the center console and under the carpet. Came out where the factory seat belt wires come out, then crossed over the center console and cut a matching hole to run the wire to. I grounded both seats with the large stud.
I looked up how to add fuses to the PDC, I think in the future when I add fog lights and maybe a second efan I'll change over to that. Looks pretty simple.
