Default WJ Brakes with JCR Steering?

So I just installed the JCR UTK one ton kit to fix the slop in my steering.

Now I need to work on the brakes. I know I can do a disc conversion in the back and the WJ knuckles and brakes up front. The rear discs will be soon and then the WJ brake swap is next.

With my 01 I wont need to change the MC or brake booster.

So my question is can the JCR kit be used on the WJ knuckles?

I can ream the knuckles again but I'm not sure if the lengths will work out.

Can someone who has done the swap measure the distance from the passenger tie rod end to the pitman arm?

Well the WJ knuckles are setup for crossover steering. In other words, the tie rod and drag link do not connect, whereas your JCR kit is an inverted T style. I'm not sure if it's possible to use your current steering on those knuckles. I could see the possibility of only using one of the steering mounts on the passenger knuckle. Hopefully someone else will chime in whether or not it's do-able.

Thats my question really. Does the other steering arm get in the way of using the inverted T setup?

And secondly will the JCR rods work out.

The extra steering arm on the Right side WJ knuckle won't interfere with the XJ style steering, but the WJ steering is a better design. I installed the JCR UTK setup on my ZJ and I have been plagued with problems ever since. First at stock height I had death wobble almost instantly and the tie rod contacts the track bar mount on the axle at less than full right turn. Then once I installed a four inch long arm lift I have had to deal with major bump steer. I'm just going to put my stock linkage back on. Worst mod I have done to my rig.

Your best bet might be to convert to the WJ steering and sell the JCR stuff.

You will have to fab up a new track bar mount on the axle. There is a video on the YouTube for that mod.

My steering right now is much improved over the old and I don't have issues with bump steer. If I went to the wj knucles I would put the track bar on top of the axle for sure.

And if it won't interfere with that other steering arm then that's what I will use. The JCR system. But the last part I need to find is how far is it from the passenger steering knuckle to the pitman arm on an xj with wj knuckles. And also the tie rod length from knuckle to knuckle just to make sure the JCR rod is long enough or short enough.

Or if you want to spend 800 or more you can get bigger aftermarket brakes http://www.tandrperformance.com/braking.html

Yea. That's more than 1/3rd of what I paid for the Jeep.
