WJ booster upgrade question...did I break the master cylinder?
Hey gents,
I got my WJ booster and master cylinder in the mail on Saturday and spent some time taking it apart to clean and repaint it as it was kind of ratty looking and it needed it. Well, I didn't notice it during the disassembly, but after I pulled the reservoir the and the master cylinder, I realized that a metal shaft had fallen out of the front most bore. There was only one hole where it could have gone, so put it back in, but now I'm concerned that it needed to be clocked or something...is just putting it back enough or did I mess something up?
Additionally, the booster didn't come with the spacer, which I think is supposed to be 3/4'', but sources vary. Being that I was at Home Depot, I looked around for some materials that I could used to replace the spacer as I can't find any online. Two options came home with me; one I got about a half dozen of the vinyl flooring samples that I can cut and stack for the appropriate spacing, and the other was a metal conduit box cover that, surprisingly fits the four bolt spacing perfectly, but does need to have the center bore widened some.
Anyone have any thoughts on if the vinyl would be a bad option? It's ultra dense and when stacked is extremely hard. It's kind of my first choice as cutting and fitting it would be much easier than opening up the bore of the metal plate...not to mention that I don't know if it's even tall enough.
Repainted booster and cleaned out reservoir. Vinyl flooring samples at bottom of frame
metal conduit plate
Would love some input!
Thanks,
-Matt

I've only had the WJ booster in for a couple weeks but I haven't noticed any cold air getting in. The boot for the pushrod pretty much fills up the hole in the firewall.

IIRC, 95 to 96 uses the spacer and WJ does not.

Ever notice the biggest pooh-poohers are those who haven't done something?
