Default wiring question

Well I got a call from a guy wanting to sell his 88xj for 300 bucks and the only thing wrong with it is the wiring harness caught fire under the dash... would it be easier to cut and splice my wiring harness onto that one or just strip it down and put the parts in mine? I have a 89... both have the same amount of lift.... the guy has put tons of money into it but just give up on it... my body is pretty beat up and I have a two door so the door brackets are tearing away from the body... due to then being so heavy... what is you guys opinions?

Strip it down and improve yours, repairing electrical fires can be overwhelming. you can repair your hinges with little effort- or cheap enough at a shop.

Replace the whole dash harness if you want two driveable XJs.

That's what I would like to do but I need parts for mine and the 88 is in a lot better shape than mine. I guess ill just make tube doors for mine and then use the 88 for a 350 swap or something... just didn't know which would be easier
