Doable, but you'll need a compatible auto trans, new drive shafts, new motor mounts, and a complete rewire for any engine management. and probably other things I'm not thinking about.

Well my LS powered XJ hasnt folded like a taco yet ive got about 6000 hard miles on it so far and the only issue i have is trying to keep my foot out of it. It is not something for a novice to undertake. The LS1 is a 100lbs lighter than the 4.0 and puts down just shy of 400hp
