I have a 1990 xj renix model and I just picked up a set of injectors out of a 96 neon and a 97 neon the are both marked with the numbers 280155740 I couldnt find a set of 703's to save my life and I was wondering if they will still fit my xj

What would be the main difference between the 740 and the 703 vs the 746

As far as I know, those won't work. A quick search should bring up peoples' posts if they have been used before. No posts, then they probably don't work. I've seen a few sets of the 703's for sale on here, so just keep your eyes open for a good deal.

No idea what's different about the 740s. Here for more info: https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/199...r-swap-163105/

The 740's came in some neons and are almost identical to the 703's, but they are ~1/2" shorter. If you were to pull out your stock injectors and try to put the 740's in, they won't reach both the fuel rail and the block.

The 746's are a Renix only injector, while the 703 can be used from 87-98 (the 784 is used to upgrade 99-01).

Hope this helps.

Thank you jayphillps I noticed this now as I'm attempting to put them in I have gotten then in and on the rail though just the rail is way off on the bolt holes. Would that be a problem if I were to leave the rail unbolted and maybe wedge a bolt in to keep it from popping out?

Not a remotely good idea. Haha

It's always better to get the correct parts rather than "jerry-rig" it, especially when dealing with the engine.

And it may not be leaking while just sitting there, but it would if you hit a couple bumps cruising down the road.
