Will these fit my stock xj?
Hey everyone, Quick question. Will these tires fit my stock xj? I have 15s shown here
This is my first jeep and I'm still learning. Will these fit without having to cut/ remove any trim?
Is back spacing involved?
What about regearing?
As always I appreciate all advice and opinions.
I'm only shopping on Walmart. Com because my girlfriends mom is a store manager and can get my them discounted

At stock height(suspension must be in GOOD shape)and without cutting and bumpstops as the above post says your limited to 29" to 30" max. The ones below are 28.9"

Yes, but as stated above, you'll have issues.
Extended bumpstops will prevent rubbing over bumps, but you're limiting suspension travel. Hitting hard dips, RR tracks... You are definitely gonna feel it.
Cut-n-fold on the wells will give great clearance, but in most states means popping coin for aftermarket flares.
Using those wheels, you are going to rub the control arms. Period. Spacers are an option, but I'd suggest picking up some wheels with 3.75"ish of backspacing. 15x8 with those tires.
A budget lift may be a good option. 2" doesn't sound like much(yes yes, that's what she said)' but it'll gain you a good bit of clearance. That and the right wheels and you'd be in good shape with those tires. Or just bite the bullet and pick up a real 3" kit.

Agreed you will need a 15x8" wheel with 3.75" BS steel wheels are cheap $40 up for them. If you don't want any lift stick with stock size tires for your year then no problems. A small 3" lift will fit 33" tires but like most require trimming.
Correct and you really don't want a 7" wide rim in a 15 or 16" rim JMHO. 15's seem to be the most used tire size on the XJ's I run 33's and 35x15's both.

Size listed is 30.47"x9.65" so essentially a 31x10.00r16. This will fit stock, sure, but the fact remains to will rub tires all over the place. If the rear is stock your gonna rub on bumps. The front will rub when you go full lock and it will rip your fenders off if you flex it enough. You NEED to at the very least add extended bump stops, but, as stated, you will shorten the travel of suspension. Again, as stated, get a 2" BB, bump stops and trim the fenders.
Quick note on the BB: A front spacer is fine, but if you can find a 1.5-2" leaf look into that and a .5 longer shackle. The other options for a rear BB is an AAL (Add A Leaf, just a helper leaf that wears out pretty quick) or a block between leaf and axle (not recommended as it promotes axle wrap)
Last Edit: Here is a close match. A little extra in rear won't hurt as it will settle a bit and/or if you haul things.

Very true but my problems is every size you pick are for 1 ton trucks ... If you pick a 245 70 16 the price drops 20 $ a tire and you get D load not an E load ... Lighter tire all the way round .... I do like the new ko2 but you can't beat the general at2 for the cost difference ...

Cooper AT3 is made in P sizes. I run the 31" equivalent, 265-75-15.
I previously ran the heavy 31" BFG AT KO. Noticeable performance increase with the Coopers coupled with a lighter wheel (stock gears).
BFG in first pic, Coopers in second.
