Default Will a stroker shred my drivetrain?

I am in the process of locating all the parts to build my 4.7 stroker. I was just curious if I need to upgrade my drive line in order to handle the extra power it will produce? I don't want to get this thing all built up and start breaking stuff left and right. I plan on going through pretty much all of it anyway, but only as the budget allows. I don't want to have to do it all right off the bat. Let me know!

I agree with jeepjunky. Beside the power you will be adding with just a stroker kit won't be that much. It's not like your throwing nitrous on it or a blower. Then you might think about building up our drivetrain. If your lookin for more power your better off doing an engine swap like we did with the cj and an LS7. Or something smaller lol

x2 stock motor will destroy the drivetrain when you drive like a bat-outa-hell offroad. But in reality you only adding like 20-60 HP and TQ depending on how much $$ you throw into it

I drive like an old man so I should be good. I was just curious if people are noticing weak spots in their drive train after upgrading motors. Thanks!

My buddy beats his Tj with a 4.7. We put an 8.8 out back, hp30 up front, 35" tires and he sometimes breaks, but he drives it like he stole it. My .02 would be do a rear axle and see what happens, the trans and t case should be fine for moderate wheeling.

If your really worried about it rebuild your rear end. Get U.S. gears not cheaply made ones from china. And get a good bearing kit not eBay crap. With any build it's not what's it going to break its more of always upgrading the weakest link.

We did the 4.7 then added a hesco head to bring it up to 4.8. The only thing we upgraded was the driveshaft and gear sets. We have been running this for about 3 years/18k and still haven't broken anything in the drivetrain. But it's not my DD and does get trailered to the trails often.

lmao I guess that stock air box is pretty strong huh? I was kinda scared to see that in a stroker til the 3rd pic :P lol

Both the AX15 and AW4 can handle the extra torque unless you go crazy with things. Though if you're wheeling much I'd say the D35 has an even higher chance of destructing than before lol.

It's nice to have someone small enough to do the little things. There she's tightening throttle cable brackets. That's just after the hesco install, and yes we ran the stock intake for about 6 months. You could tell it was starving.
