Will this 44 work?
2 Attachment(s)
My cousin wants to do a 44/9 combo on his jeep and found this front 44 off of a 79 bronco and was wondering what the diamond shaped pieces were on the tubing, does it usually come like this? Can he work with it? Can he cut them off or are they apart of the housing? Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with it? Thanks guys your help would be greatly appreciated

They can't be cut off. You have to use the factory ford radius arms. Nothing wrong with them I'm swapping one in when I have the funds

That is correct. That diamond is actually cast into that side of the axle. Not welded on to an existing axle tube. You would have to retube that side.

i also have one in my garage along with the matching 9 inch.
i have long arms now, so i wasn't wanting to get rid of mine to use the ford radius arms, but after seeing how much they can flex with a custom long radius arm setup, i'm rethinking using it anyways. this may give you an idea http://images.cardomain.com/member_i...7_307_full.jpg |
