Who's running a front lunchbox or Spartan locker and drives it on the street?

I'd like to hear your input.

There is a huge price difference in e lockers and lunchbox and after rolling and fixing the Jeep, I don't want to drop another $800+ on an Eaton or Detroit.

Yes I will be driving it in the snow some. Just up the snowboard hill. It doesn't snow anywhere else where I live. I heard auto lockers can be very bad in the snow but I was going to take it slow if I have to use 4wd.

An the locker in the rear for snow driving would be bad if your not careful but in the front just makes it feel stiff but can maneuver just fine im happy with it n recommend getting it from rwk h. here in the vendor section great service cheap price fast delivery.

Not mention how easy it was to install an you dont have to worry about gear size or changing carriers like a selectable locker

I got a Spartan locker up front and im pulling it out because i dont like the popping it makes when you make turns so im switching to a e locker so mine will be up for sale in about a week its only got less then a thousand miles on it and i barely used it

How much are you looking to get for it?

I live in Buffalo & drive in 4WD when the roads are snow covered (not just a dusting)... I bought a Spatran for the front didn't even install it, but am selling it because i really need a selectable locker in the front IMO. I've read that driving in snow in 4WD with a lunchbox locker your rig will drift/pull. Gotta be careful. Don't quote me on that, just what I've been reading.. Contact Serious Off Road or RWK Haus Supply here for pricing on lockers &/or compresses. RWK gave me a good price for his air locker & Arb compresser...
Good luck

I drive in snow all the time with my Spartan out front and it isn't bad I was expecting to go all over the roads this winter with what people say but its fine if your being smart just go slower in 4x4

sneakyjap96 01-26-2013 02:38 AM

Lunch box up front in the snow i noticed nothing different besides the wheel was stiffer i even thrashed down the mountain in 4 feet of snow doing like 40 an had no problem with it

Mine is driven all the time and I have Spartans in the Front and rear. If you are hearing and feeling the Spartan in the front and you are in 2WD, you installed it wrong. Mine clicks, but I can't hear it unless I roll down my window and stick my head out the window.
It is fine in the snow, just remember you are not driving a car...

Love mine in the snow. On road and off. It clicks when I'm drivin slow but not bad. So fats it been worth the money!!!! I would highly suggest it.

Aussie rear and lockright front. Drives fine in dd conditions
My rear makes more noise then front does, you can barely notice the front. In snow its awesome cant power through corners tho you will go straight. Deep snow kicks ***!!!!!
