Who runs bigger then 4" coils on short arms
I am we'll aware of what you are suppose to do, but the RC LCAs I have do state 4-6" lift. At 3" coils and 1" spacers now but with a winch and heavy bumper. Think 4.5" coils and my spacer would be ok with the fixed short arms ? thanks . Really looking for someone that might have this setup over what others think or "know"

Plenty of people run 4.5" on short arms...but all the long arm people will be along shortly to tell you to just go long arm...
Anyways, try it. You're droop will prolly be limited. If its a problem you can always try LCA drop brackets...

Ran 6" on mine then bought the garbage drop brackets. They do ride better and articulation was helped but they don't compare to a long arm. I have one of those I'm currently building.

I run 4.5" RE coils and adj. RE short arms. I have no problem with "flex." ride quality isn't great but I remedy that a bit with low-ish tire pressure. it's not awful, long arms are for sure the way to go but it's safe to say they're not high on my to-do list
not a very good picture of flex but here it is. I can post a better one later if anyone really wants one

I didn't think I needed it when I was on short arms but got long arms anyways. Night and day. Wash board roads are soaked up like nothing. I would recommend.

I run 4.5 springs from rusty offroad and 2" spacers. I ended up putting a drop down kit in to get more flex but it rode great on the road prior to that. I have adjustable control arms which I assume you are already running.

I have a 4.5 inch lift (measures more around 5") with short arms. Never drove it stock so I can't compare. Sure its a little rough but it gets a decent amount of flex. Don't have any fully flexed pics though, sorry.

I'm running a 3.5" Super Flex RE lift with fixed lower control arms & stock uppers with Rocky Road Outfitters 3" Coil spacers. But with front bumper and winch the weight dropped me down to about 6". But im also running Rocky Road Outfitters Control Arm Drop Brackets too so they help alot. The Rear is a 3.5" RE full leaf packs with 1.5" shackles. Soon gonna add the shackle relocation kit. I get decent flex and the ride isn't horrible at all. Its actually alot better than stock. I will eventually go Long arms but at the moment not at the top of my priority list, I have more important things I'd like to get done at the moment since the ride isn't to bad.

I'm running a RC 6.5" kit on my XJ and it's my daily driver. I'm using a control arm drop kit and it helps with angles

I am running a 4.5" RC lift on mine with adj. upper and lower short arms. It wheeled good but no road manners what so ever. Right now I am putting in a control arm drop because I cannot afford buying or making long arms right now.

im running a BDS 4.5" short arm. works great, have no complaints about ride for flex. plus the install is much easier and cheaper than longarms. IMO you dont need longarms unless you plan on going over 4.5" of lift. longarms just like to get hung up on rocks and whatnot in my experience.

Once you buy long arms try them and put short arm back on ill believe you. But no one does. It's because it's obviously better.

Like I said, I'm at 4.5 running short arms
And she does just fine. If I went to 6" I'd consider LAs, that's all I'm saying.
