Rust does not question my build as I got mine cheap enough. Now that my xj has floors and a solid frame again, I plan on getting cleaner doors and fixing the rockers in the spring. I also plan on replacing EVERY bolt I can when doing the suspension as the bolts look pretty sad. That is if I do a lift, which will probably happen as the rear is a little low, and I'm a mod addict.

How do you like that Por 15? I'm thinking of doing it to mine in early spring. I have quickly read over some of it and it seems to be a pretty straight forward process. Any tips/tricks you have would be great too!

I didnt have rust it was just a preventative measure. If por 15 sticks to metal like it does skin there wont be a problem. My recomendation is to where a full paper suit. Painting upside down is a pain along with rubber gloves and glasses. I painted my chevy pickup years ago. Still black and no rust. The only preporation was dancing over the metal quickly with a wire wheel on a 90 degree air gun.

i'veot some on the rear quarter panels, noticed it after i pulled off the plastic. no worries though, gonna cut those panels and tuck em anyway.
as far as when to draw the line??? thats a personal decision that requires to to evaluate you skills as a metal fabrication, your $$$ situation, your time, your emotion attachmnet to the vehicle.... me, i'm keeping mine.

Also depends on how cheap you can find a rust free one to swap parts over while building. I didn't want to spend all the time and effort repairing a rusty 96 so bought a clean 95 that ran but didnt drive for $500. Combine the two and have a nice vehicle for not a whole lot of money after selling unwanted parts and scrap.
